This review comes after 4 years of limited use. First I must give credit; The trimmer is pretty basic and for the most part it worked. But after about a year of almost useless use, I started having some really frustrating problems. The main problems I had: 1) The battery is terrible. The battery was really lacking and I typically had to wait 12-24 hours for it to charge before I could actually use it (e.g. to cut my hair). And you can't use it when it's plugged in, which is probably more difficult from a technical point of view, but as a user I find it absurd, especially when the battery is dead, which it is. 2) The plastic guards are absolutely terrible. Then one day I accidentally dropped one of the plastic shields. The guard is completely broken. You wouldn't believe this would happen with something this light, but it tells me how cheap this item really is. 3) After the last full charge I found that not only one of the trimmers broke for no apparent reason. - like missing a tooth - but this thing is dead. It has served me well, but for the price I think it's a waste of money. Philips doesn't do this product justice in my opinion and I would definitely have chosen a different product.
