Review on πŸ”³ Enhanced Visibility Blue/White Sentinel Handguard by PowerMadd 34421 by David Thornton

Great design decent functionality

I heavily modified them to fit on a 2006 Yamaha Roadliner to try to keep out the cold winter air. I will not rate this part as I used the product on a vehicle for which it was not designed. I evaluate a product based on its look, feel and quality, but I also share my experiences. Those handguards look sharp. The first thing they do is to grab your attention because of their sharp curves, bold looks and larger size. It took some adjustments to my custom design to actually block the wind, and the handguard has to be close enough to my hands (touching the clutch and brake lever) to block any wind. They will certainly stop smaller rocks and debris, but thick branches and other heavy objects are more likely to bend or damage something since they are plastic. The shields follow the shape of the hand very nicely and, when assembled correctly, close it off from top to bottom. The only thing I would ask the company to check is the part that the guard itself attaches to the mount. There are two prongs that fit into some sort of rail that prevents the guards from tipping up or down. It's a decent design that keeps them stable at speed but limits their adjustment options. I've made them work in a situation where they shouldn't and they feel very comfortable. If there was an adapter for different size handlebars, they would no doubt corner the cruiser and sport touring bike market. I'm deducting one star for lack of customization points. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish design with a practical foundation. If you have experience modifying parts (especially handlebars or mirror mounting points) I would say go for it. I did it and it turned out great.
