I want to share what helped me install this replacement glass on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Before installing, turn on your computer and turn off sleep mode to keep the screen on while the heat from the LED helps soften the adhesive holding the glass to the frame. Also, NEVER use metal objects to remove adhesive residue on the frame. SLOW and careful light scraping with some plastic works best. My advice is simple: GO SLOWLY WITHOUT DISTURBANCES and the whole process shouldn't take more than 1 hour. just make sure that you use either playing cards or old plastic credit cards when gently removing the old broken glass to prevent the old glass from sticking. and gradually move around the frame. There are many repair sources online that mention a heat gun that is too hot for an LED screen. A simple hair dryer will do, but I've found it's best to leave the screen on.
