So far I've had two PS3 systems to keep it cool. Although everyone says it's not necessary. There is at my location. In any case, within 4 days of running the fans (approx. 36 hours), they themselves have problems. When the PS3 system is turned off and then restarted. The fans scream like crazy. This lasted about 36 hours of operation. The screeching stops after about 5 minutes and the fans work normally. The temperature system works great. As the system warms up, the fans will turn on and run until you turn off the PS3 system. After you turn off the PS3 system, the fan system will still check the temperature, which is great, and turn on again for a short while until it cools down. So far it will only turn on once after the PS3 is initially turned off and then turn off again within 2-3 minutes. I used a digital meat thermometer to see how much heat the PS3 is putting out - at the exit of the external fan system. . The maximum temperature so far was 118 degrees Fahrenheit with the fans set to maximum speed (playing the game). Oh yes, the system has a very handy button that makes connecting the fan system easy and very quick. The only criticism is that after installing an external fan system, you cannot disconnect the CAT internet cable as it leaves no room for your finger to get in and press the release button on the CAT cable. However, if the fan system button is quickly pressed, the fans turn off and move down, allowing you to disconnect the CAT cable. Those are my only two complaints. However, the squeaking from the fans is huge as it tells me the system may not last long.
