I am an experienced smoker and use ashtrays. I have a lot. It's awesome! I used to have these ashtrays and bought this one so I wouldn't have open trays of cigarette butts and ashes on my kitchen counter. Works absolutely perfectly. It has enough space for me to safely put a lit cigarette down and the angle is such that it slows down and even puts out the tobacco when I'm not coming back to it. Not many ashtrays and I hate it! The rotating tray works perfectly. It doesn't pour ash from the device, as one review says. The whole thing is surprisingly heavy - the glass is really thick! The color of the sea wave is beautiful - even and intense - looks much better than the seller's photo and the photo of this color in the reviews. The chrome plated rotating mechanism on top of the glass (it sure snaps into place) is shiny and works harder than I expected. I would not wash it in the dishwasher or leave it outside due to the metal parts inside. See, I know I'm not going to buy a Tiffany when it comes to these types of items, and the mechanical movement of this type is not going to last a lifetime if it's used as much as I use it. But at this price it works and looks so good that I just ordered another one for the TV room, in green, which for some reason is $6 cheaper than turquoise. But if you want aquamarine, get it because it's so pretty to look at.
