The previous generation was PS3. So, yes, I think the current generation is fantastic. Things improved dramatically. As for the limited selection of games, tk, I'm good. I can't afford to waste my entire day playing games. Benefits from: The light fixture is fantastic. Superb visuals, quick operation, user-friendly menu, rapid disk- and network-based content download and installation, and an easy-to-use controller. Distinct drawbacks: The shine is a bit too marked, but this is a minor flaw otherwise. You can leave the console settings alone. Even though I like the traditional sound system without an optical audio input, I was disappointed that there wasn't a tulip or minijack for an audio output.
