You get 4 small discs in this set – stick on alarms for any vulnerable windows or sliding glass doors. They have two controls on the sides, one to turn them on or off, and the other to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm. They are powered by 3-buttons each LR44 batteries that come with. They say they have a 1-year battery life, although we can’t vouch for that yet.There’s paper on the sticky back that you peel off and then just press the unit to the glass. For example, we wanted to protect the thin side window beside our front door, and stuck one there. It works by vibration. If someone strikes the window, let alone breaks it, the alarm will scream.There is a red light on the front that blinks when the disc is disturbed. They say that that alone could deter a would-be thief, but we’re not quite sure how that would work as the unit faces away from the outside. However, the alarm itself is loud! It’s 125 db, which is louder than your average car horn, so that should do the job.These are small, easy to install, and we’ll be ordering more of them.
