I used this on my bedroom windows as I work 12 hour nights in the medical field. Although I used to have blackout curtains with the addition of black paper blinds (on my metal blinds), the light still peeked out from the top and the sides, which wasn't too bad, but the HEAT-omgosh was awful - landing 2 degrees higher than the rest of the house! Every woman going through or going through menopause KNOWS that we can't tolerate heat while we sleep! Take care of a moody old woman! That being said, as a 55 year old single woman, I installed this myself in about an hour for two windows (4 panes) with ease and a great sense of accomplishment! Usually most projects turn into a circus for me, but not this time! Make sure your utility knife has a new blade - that was my biggest problem - move the card along the edge when cutting - I learned that at work. days, but what a difference with the light! There were a few hiccups with my haircut. So what if a tiny streak of light peeks through them! All in all I would buy again! Ease of use and installation
