Good starter set

I love colours, the more the merrier. I love watercolor pencils because they are like magic to me. So the combination of a bunch of watercolor pencils is something that's hard to miss, and I didn't. This pack of 72 watercolor pencils is packaged differently than most. The box can stand upright at your work station with pens in three compartments. You can see the first tray in its entirety and if you want the color of the other two trays you can pull them up to see them. Or, of course, you can place three trays on your worktop to see all the colors. Some artists may pull out the colors they want to use and put away the rest of the pens. I don't have those options. When I checked the colors and then added the water, I could clearly see the demarcation lines on most of the colors. I thought it was ok until I tried another set of watercolor pencils. It's not like this. The pens are numbered but do not have names corresponding to the numbers. I love seeing how companies name their colors, so I'm disappointed when they don't have names like "double dark chocolate brown". At least they have numbers and with the swatches you can choose the colors of the pens you want to use as they can be mixed. There is a good selection of "flower" colors as well as "leaf, water and sky" colors. A few browns and grays too, so not too many neutrals. This would be a good set for both beginners and kids who will be amazed at what happens when you add water to pencil marks. When my granddaughter comes to visit, I keep them for her. I appreciate getting them to test. Many Thanks.
