Review on Gigabyte AERO 15 OLED SA 7US5130SH by Sirirat Benjakalyani ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm satisfied with it, there are only some small flaws.

As in any laptop with such a filling and such a thin and compact case - it is hardly possible to reach the maximum power of iron, throttling, overheating - at full power this is a common thing (I owned gaming models of Asus Rog laptops - their situation is worse, here the temperature is under load below). I needed a working laptop, but I also occasionally play games, I could consider the option of a separate device for games (heavy laptop or system unit) and a light ultrabook for work, but this is not cheaper, and much less convenient. Monodevice always wins. It is really portable, the charging unit is quite acceptable in size. Perhaps someone will come in handy. For myself, I developed such a use case. For office tasks, I set the fan through Smart Manager - quite mode and energy saving mode. Power is still enough for office tasks. In this case, the fan is generally silent most of the time (occasionally turns on). For games - I put whisper mode in nvidia experience, in the control panel - I increase the frame rate for the game from 30 to 120 (possible maximum), in the Smart Manager the fan is Normal and Power - Balanced. I get an almost silent game mode - games at 120 fps, it's enough for me, but the laptop is almost silent, it's a thrill. Near the asus horn on the same settings roars like a shuttle leaving the spaceport. :)

Pros
  • This is understandable without comment - powerful, very powerful. The keyboard is comfortable, the riser blade is more convenient, and perhaps a little more convenient than a macbook (good key travel). A 144hz screen is a curse. after working on such a screen, it is difficult to return to 30/60hz screens (sometimes you have to). Very cool design (not banal and at the same time modest, not loud), the display is impressive, the feeling of a "floating" screen produces a wow effect.
Cons
  • Battery. According to the passport - the most capacious in this class 94 Wh. One of the main reasons for the acquisition and also disappointment. Judging by the reviews, the model should live from 6 to 8-10 hours of office work. However, no matter how I turned the drivers into whatever ultra-power-saving mode I switched, the maximum is 4 kopeck hours. From which I conclude that the gigabyte was screwed up with some kind of driver or something like that, maybe. the samples that got to the reviewers worked flawlessly for a long time. I hope they will soon release an ate of all firewood and everything will be in order. Assembly. For such an expensive device, I would like everything to be directly premium and monolithic, but no - everyware is plastic. It is assembled at a good level, but I want it at a premium level (like a raiser blade).
