I bought this product for my husband's birthday. He has long hair and a medium sized beard. The product smoothes both the scalp and facial hair as expected. Due to the texture of his hair I think the flat iron needs to be a bit hotter but overall he was happy with the whole set and uses it weekly. My daughter has a L'ange straightener that is very similar to this product. With the exception of the temperature set on its rectifier, the two products work very similarly. The smell and texture of the product is very comparable to other beard balms I've bought in "trendy" boutiques.
