great look for a primitive decor

From photos online this blanket appears to be very light/light in colour. My decor is very primitive/vintage and I've scoured the web for two of my desires in a black and brown quilt: log cabin style or quilting. After much searching, I ordered this one without worrying that my bed wouldn't look as "old" as the other items in the room: a 6 foot long shutter with a raised panel that I rubbed down with black paint and horizontal hung as a headboard. and there was a huge old basket hanging on the wall. My fears have turned to ecstasy; The quilt is much more primitive (home looking fabrics, some look tea stained) than many pictures on the web show. It looks amazing but I understand that not everyone who bought it expected or wanted this look judging by another review. Your review that the colors were darker than the picture on the website really helped me decide to order. It is very light but looks well made. This is my first Victorian Heart duvet and the first duvet I've paid that much money for so I sincerely hope that after a few washes I won't regret my decision. But I live close enough to Amish quilt country in central Pennsylvania to understand what truly hand-sewn quilts are for, so I thought it was worth a try. I always order a king size for my king bed because I don't want to deal with dusty knick-knacks. Although the length nears the floor on the sides, from the head to the foot of the bed isn't long enough to cover the pillows (I don't pad either), but the other comforters I've had do the same. I love my bedroom!
