I have a couple of these walkie talkies, the first of which I bought for its intended use have: emergency kit . They seem pretty solid and well built, although the first had a battery connection issue. Some fiddling and tweaking of the battery contacts seemed to fix the problem. My second was bought as a temporary car stereo until I was able to fix a real car stereo and I found they weren't really designed for long listening, no more than 30 minutes. The battery just doesn't last. Also, I'm not sure I'm getting much charge unless the sunlight is direct; The ambient light indicates the charge on the radio's LED, but it doesn't really seem like that much. Strangely, direct sunlight can darken the radio's LCD screen (a typical LCD problem), which is pretty stupid for a solar powered radio! In general they appear to be fairly durable and reliable units when used as intended.
