Must be bought for emergency backpack or camping backpack

Pro - Small and handy - Good alternative to backup power with rotary charging and solar radiation - Reliable battery - Long radio range - Acceptable speakers and good sound amplitude. Never used con. Not the best music quality, but that's to be expected for an emergency radio.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

I liked this radio

The sound was good. It seemed good. Solar is sufficient in full sun exposure. but in the morning I started it and the handle broke. It was held in place by these tiny bits of plastic. Then the antenna broke when I pulled it out once. After that, the sound and reception went bad. I had it charged at the front of the boat and accidentally dropped it in the water while pulling out the camera. He swims. But then he stopped working. At the time, I wasn't very upset about it. I would not rely on this

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Reliable and easy to use

Compact, durable and functional device. Have a good time. Has clear reception, easy to use. This is the best compact radio I have ever owned and I have had quite a few. I just bought a second one for my bug bag. UPDATE; I've noticed that some of the criticisms of this product are unfounded. It only requires basic battery knowledge and the use of a screwdriver to replace the battery. I've been using mine for over two years now and am in the process of changing the batteries. It uses a…

I have a couple of these walkie talkies, the first of which I bought for its intended use have: emergency kit . They seem pretty solid and well built, although the first had a battery connection issue. Some fiddling and tweaking of the battery contacts seemed to fix the problem. My second was bought as a temporary car stereo until I was able to fix a real car stereo and I found they weren't really designed for long listening, no more than 30 minutes. The battery just doesn't last. Also, I'm not

Pros
  • Useful not just for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Will be added later

Very suitable for radio

Most of the negative reviews about this and other similar products are due to the fact that the owner broke the handle when turning it. I read these reviews and learned from them. I'm careful when I turn it. However, I only turned it a few turns. There is a window behind my desk at home. The sunshine on those winter days was enough to fully recharge it. I played with it for about a week before putting it next to my battery powered flashlight. The flashlight is much dimmer than my regular…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Nice design, good features but poor workmanship

Update: When I first received the device I gave it a very positive review, see below. But aside from the shortcomings others have pointed out, it has one glaring and horrible problem with prolonged use: the plastic around it oozes a very sticky liquid that has now covered the entire device. If you touch it, your fingers will be sticky and it will be very difficult to remove. It's a bit like pine sap, and in the end only GooGone helped get my fingers clean after a lot of scratching. The device…

Very good solution for special requirements

Update 10/04/2019 The radio still works. Rarely used, used for a flashlight rather than a radio but the battery still holds a charge and the unit continues to work like new. I'm guessing I've had it for about four years now? I'm glad I bought it! Moving to a quiet house soon where I'll probably put it by my bedroom window so it never needs to be charged again. It's in the dark at the moment and I charge it maybe twice a year. I keep this radio at the top of my bedroom stairs to grab on the way…
