Review on 📻 La Crosse Technology 810-106 NOAA/AM/FM Severe Weather Alert Radio with Solar: Stay Informed and Prepared by Ken Reiff

Very suitable for radio

Most of the negative reviews about this and other similar products are due to the fact that the owner broke the handle when turning it. I read these reviews and learned from them. I'm careful when I turn it. However, I only turned it a few turns. There is a window behind my desk at home. The sunshine on those winter days was enough to fully recharge it. I played with it for about a week before putting it next to my battery powered flashlight. The flashlight is much dimmer than my regular flashlight, but it's still useful and the batteries never run out. Tried to walk around the house with him at night. It was perfectly adequate. The radio receives all weather channels and many AM and FM stations. That surprised me a little. I never thought my house would be in a good reception area. The radio sound is loud and clear. I found Rush Limbaugh on the clock face. It was perfectly adequate. I don't think it will charge my Samsung Galaxy tablet with weird connectors. So I can't play solitaire when there's an earthquake. Solitaire does not require an internet or phone connection. Almost anything else that works on a tablet will work. If there is a power outage my Wi-Fi router will also shut down and only saved programs like Solitaire will work on my tablet. Aside from the fact that the Solitaire will get lost after a day or two, it's perfectly suitable as an emergency device.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.
