Well I've had one of these for a few years, exactly the same except it had a blue cap instead of a red one like this one. I used the old one almost exclusively for Kool-Aid, but occasionally for OJ as well. Now I only wanted to use it for cold water which I cleaned with a Brita filter along with the jug that came with the Brita filter. I've never noticed it before, but this pitcher gives the water a flavor all of its own. Tried both pitchers (I bought two) and yes both. Probably too faint to be noticeable with Kool-Aid, but very noticeable with clear water. I don't know if it goes away after some time or not. So I use one for Kool-Aid I don't drink that much anymore and see if the plastic taste goes away after a while.
