I tried using a competitor's version of these connectors but the wires were much thinner and the male and female ends had bare metal on them the ends that close easily when you tuck them in. Not good when these things are used to charge a 12V 30Ah battery! making it impossible to short the inner and outer conductors together. And the wires are nice and thick, and I'm more confident that they can handle the expected four amps going through them all the time. I'm taking off a star because the plugs themselves look cheap and I suspect they won't last. too daily on and off but so far so good. In addition, the lead wires are pre-stripped to the same length and tinned, indicating good quality control. It was very easy to solder the wires to the copper ring connectors which made for a very secure connection. UPDATE: Since I ordered this they seem to have replaced the bushing with one with visible metal on the tip. I have attached photos of the ones I have ordered and reviewed.
