Amazing customer service from Kate

Received this product today and quickly found that it does not fit my TS100 soldering iron (TS 100 requires 5.5mm*2.5mm which is 5.5mm*2, 1 mm corresponds). I contacted Kate (from LILAPEAK) to see if I could find a replacement. They immediately replied that the product was not available and offered a full refund. The item was not returned because I had to pay for shipping. This is a great example of a customer-centric business model. I highly recommend MILAPEAK!

Does what it's supposed to, the sheath is too thick

The sheath on these braids is a bit too big. It is very thick and very hard - almost plastic. It's as thick as I would expect a 16 AWG wire to be. This makes the wires much stiffer than they should be, defeating the purpose of braided copper wire. It would almost be better if they were solid copper so you can bend them into the shape you want. The thick casing gives you the worst of both worlds: it's not flexible enough, and the braided wire doesn't let you as you wish. form. Therefore, it is…

Not 18awg but closer than other brands.

They're pleasantly cheap and while the wire isn't the actual 18 AWG as advertised, it's probably closer to 20 AWG (the wires are marked 2 x 0.6mm^2, which is a bit is less than 19 AWG). I've used crimp terminals with them, and on cheap crimp terminals, the 22-18 AWG terminal slipped off immediately after crimping. After purchasing higher quality crimping machines I had no more problems, I've successfully cut about 60 of these braids. I bought another brand to compare and they were MUCH thinner.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT! - Safety and Monitoring

When you take them out of the box they appear to be good connectors. But don't load them, which I didn't think of. I used them to connect a 12V DC power supply to the mini tire pump that every motorist has in their trunk. I filled them with a bicycle tire. Candles melted inside and the body of the candle swelled [see. Rice.]. I couldn't take them apart and had to cut the wires. I won't speak badly of these pigtails. They are suitable for many purposes such as LEDs, 19V laptop connections…

Quality product at a very competitive price

Yes, 100% copper 18 gauge wire is real and the insulation is not cheap hard plastic that is difficult to remove or machine. I'm installing a 12 volt solar battery system so my family will be reasonably comfortable when the Big Impact hits Seattle (which means we could be in town without power for months. My family will have enough power to keep multiple cell phones charged , LI battery lights and works with a cluster of AA/AAA battery chargers. To date I have crimped, spliced and soldered about

  • Great Selection

  • Ratio Set

While I won't get into the "true 18" controversy, I'll just give one real example. I hooked one up to 18V at 1.5A to test (27W) before hooking up a bunch to my setup. The length of the cable run was 3 feet, with the first 2 feet of 16 gauge wire connected to the 6" pigtail of the connector and the second 6" connected to the male side of the connector pigtail. * be rated for about 10A at 12V, or about 120W, or just over 6A at 18V. At 27W, the connector immediately became very hot to very warm…

Real 18 AWG wire and no bare metal ends for shorts

I tried using a competitor's version of these connectors but the wires were much thinner and the male and female ends had bare metal on them the ends that close easily when you tuck them in. Not good when these things are used to charge a 12V 30Ah battery! making it impossible to short the inner and outer conductors together. And the wires are nice and thick, and I'm more confident that they can handle the expected four amps going through them all the time. I'm taking off a star because the…

Measured to 19 AWG

mA) by checking the length of these wires, which I've compared to other reputable sizes.) Using a micro-ohmmeter, these wires go up to 19 AWG, so the size they state is pretty much true to size One of their wires had 0.6mm2 printed on it, so when I hooked it up to a RapidTables.com calculator it also showed 19 AWG. not much loss through the connector as the wires probably contributed the most. I was able to rotate the connectors with very little impact on the connection. A 3% voltage drop was…
