The perfect little tripod for my needs. (I use it to record myself doing pottery, crafts, etc.) Yes, the iPhone is much heavier than the tripod itself, so your phone could tip over and fall off in certain positions. You just have to be smart about how far you open the tripod legs or tilt them back to balance the weight. Simple logic and physics will go a long way. The 4 stars is because the bluetooth dongle is a bit difficult to pair, it may take two or three tries to pair successfully. Other than that, this is a great budget tripod.
