Review on 🧼 Provon Antimicrobial Lotion Soap - 16 oz Pump: Gentle & Effective Hand Cleaning by Tracey Navasca

Works great on new tattoos and other things. Gentle yet effective.

I've recently had a few tattoos done and I know from experience how important it is that the new ink is well cleaned and bacteria free. I have regular antibacterial soap at home, but it has a lot of fragrance and little antibacterial properties. I was once using a soap called Hibiclens Antiseptic/Antimicrobial Skin Liquid Soap when I was diagnosed with MRSA on my cheek, which is a very serious bacterial infection that doesn't respond well to antibiotics. It was wonderful. I thought I would buy something for my tattoos but my tattoo artist advised me not to buy it because it is red and has a strong smell. He suggested Provon so I got it. Hibiclens contains a whopping 4% of a chemical that kills bacteria and other germs. This soap contains only 0.3% (not 3% but 3/10%) of the same ingredient. So if you want a really powerful antibacterial soap, use Hibiclens. But it works great for my tattoos. It is light yellow in color and has a slight medicinal odor. It is very concentrated and quite a bit is enough to wash your tattoo or your hands. Rinses well and doesn't dry out. I used this soap on my new tattoos and they healed well. No peeling, no scabs, no infections! I've got a couple of strokes and a big cover-up planned, so I'll be using Provon for this job too. I think it's better than regular hand soap that claims to be antibacterial. Some studies have shown that they are not effective at killing germs at all! The 16 ounce bottle is a little pricey so I wouldn't use this soap for everyday hand washing, but I use it everyday for tattoos and when I do any DIY jobs that get them dirty or messy. I really don't think most people need more antibacterial ingredients for things like piercings, tattoos, and daily hand washing. I really think Hibiclens is much more effective when you need to deal with a really nasty bacterial problem. This saved me from hospitalization and losing a piece of my cheek where the superinfection had taken root. Shame it's so red it can stain tattoos or I'd use it on them too just to be careful. However, I am happy with this soap and will buy it again for tattoos and other things if I want to be sure. I eliminate weak bacteria and germs and make the area super clean.
