It is made up of 3 components and has an outer coating that offers strong drop protection. The front is partially closed at the edges for better protection. The outer material is soft and pleasant to the touch. The clip on the back is also very useful. Looking at the photos we thought it would look ugly from the front because it covers the top/bottom edges, but that's not the case. All in all a nice and very protective case. I can't be wrong My daughter loves the black color and the small hole in the back as you can still see the cool Apple logo.
