Since I started going to online school, I've noticed that my neck hurts more and more when I look at my laptop and slouch for many hours throughout the day. I bought it to keep my eyes straight on the screen and it has helped me a lot on long days at the computer. I like that it lays flat except for a slight crease at the bottom, but basically it can be folded flat and carried around. Aside from using it for my laptop, I can also use it to read my textbooks. This is a very useful device.
