, I bought this remote control to use with my a7iii/a9 cameras for family portraits. It works in tandem with Sony's image processing application for better camera response time. The issue I had was that the Sony phone app worked well up close, but shooting from the camera wasn't as reliable from a distance. I also couldn't record while the camera was receiving an image wirelessly. With my son squirming and pup dancing around, it quickly became a hostile environment. When I bought this remote I did some research to make sure it would work via Bluetooth. This means, that I can trigger the camera via BT and view images via the camera's WiFi connection. If so, they approached a little more slowly. It was perfect for my needs. I've also used it at work when I had a static camera on a tripod and wandered around with another camera to get different angles. It has a little red light, but I wish it had a more integrated lighting system that lets me know when a photo was taken, how the light turns green or something. The shutter button can hardly be heard from afar. The remote worked great though. In terms of build quality, it's plastic but still feels solid. The keys are tactile and not too soft. Comes with a handy hand strap, that I hung around while taking pictures with my other camera. My only complaint is that there was no battery included so I had to borrow one from my wife's car key for first use. Overall I'd say it's great value for money as it works just like the Sony BT remote but is cheaper.
