Finally took it to the beach last weekend and enjoyed the shade. I'm not a beach person (my family loves it) so I don't want to sit in the sun. It was fairly easy to set up and even with the constant wind on the beach it was safe; and if you mount it in the right orientation, the sun will stay away from you for most of the day. I haven't rated its durability because this is our first time using it (2 full days with no problems) but I think it will hold up well, at least as good as the 10x10 tent structures people are using.
