This is a reliable device. I have used it on my 1987 R12 tuned Buick Grand National and tested it on our 2002 Mazda with R134a adapters. You will also need an R134a adapter for this type of canister. I also received a Mastercool 85510 R134a Threaded Can Tap Valve which worked very well with this gauge set.
