I decided to buy a longer cable to connect Camlink to the camcorder. It worked great! Camlink was moved to the USB-A end and then the USB-C port was moved to the MacBook Pro. The material is woven so I have no idea how durable it will be. The small keys I have are made of the same material and seem to hold up. One problem is that it's somewhat immobile and still remembers it being folded up in the little box it came in from the manufacturer. Maybe if I let it out of the box it'll go away. But only time will tell.
