Plug this item into Macbook Air 13 inch 2020 and it works great in terms of plug and play. Unfortunately, running CPU-intensive applications consumes so much power that the Macbook's battery is completely drained after 4-5 hours of use. And yes, both the MacBook and the monitor are plugged into AC power in this case. It also happens when the laptop monitor is completely dimmed to black. In addition, power surges occur frequently. When this happens, the monitor will go to sleep immediately. All the work you have done on the monitor is now transferred to the laptop and it is annoying. I am trying to figure out how the power distribution works but this information is limited to searching the web as the manual in the box has all 3 inches. x3" and maybe 10-15 pages.
