Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Godox 5600ยฑ300K: The Ultimate Wirelessly Controlled Brightness Solution by Joe Patterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not bad, not bad for the price. Very quiet!

First of all I love Godox products. I have other flashes and strobes and softboxes and am very happy with the results I am getting. THE GOOD: - Pretty quiet. I've seen other reviewers complain about how loud they get when warmed up. That's not true (more, they fixed this issue), you can hear it if you put your ear to it, but I had it at 100% for 3 hours and never noticed any noise. - Good light quality, decent build quality. The Bowen mount is good because I can use the softboxes I already have. They come with barn doors and netting, which cost at least $25-$30. Also comes with multiple color gels. (Reviewers say they're cheap, which they kind of are. But gels are just plastic that's usually glued or clamped to a reflector, so you'd expect them to be fancy?) - Brightness is decent. But with the softbox I should have been 100%. Of course, this strip box had a double spread, but still. THE BAD: I was hoping for a bigger impact. Steady light is weaker and for real results you need either more light or stronger light. If you have $$$ go for 200W or 300W. The percentage of performance is not constant. 40% is not twice as bright as 20%. I wish it came with some sort of tote bag. I bought the Godox bag separately. I really like it and I might buy another one. But I was expecting to be more impressed with the brightness, although it's just enough.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • The list will be long.
