I have lacrosse ball, baseball and softball. Much cheaper than the roll tube which I put off for a long time. I had a lumbar microdiscectomy and a "burning nerve" in the lumbar spine, so my problem is now limited to pain in a sacroiliac joint. It's enough that I have to wear a back brace the whole time I stand up, so I pray his methods will help. I did all the ball exercises from Chris Kidowski's Back Pain Bible. once without improvement, but I think it just takes longer. Some of his trigger points actually light up, which tells me I have a more serious problem in that area. All anatomical diagrams are fairly accurate, but if you are unfamiliar with anatomy you may have trouble finding the locations. I can say that his stretches have given me significant relief after one session, particularly the hip extensors/hamstrings and adductors/inner thighs, all of which have some effect on your back. I was intrigued when he said if you put the ball on that trigger point you will feel this and that, and that's exactly what I felt! Referred pain is known medical fact, not fiction. I wish I could say more, but I'm still a beginner and definitely plan on continuing to exercise, especially since it's cheaper than surgery!
