This thing is smaller than I expected but it looks solid as a brick so I'm sure it will last forever. The only thing I disagree with is that the handle has a slot at the end where the blade goes in and the base of the blade is flush with the sides of the handle. Because it's small, it's very easy to touch the side where the base of the blade opens with your finger, and if you have a spatula in a hot cast-iron skillet, you'll squeak when you touch that part. Everything is fine from the middle to the back of the handle. You just have to be careful how you deal with it. Edit: Put the pinball machine in the dishwasher ONCE, clean it first, and the polish on the handle runs down the blade and falls off my hands. Whatever wood they're processing, it's not something they SHOULD use for woodworking. I'm still digging for the tool, but I might wrap the handle in shrink wrap or something else to keep the lacquer from contaminating my food. Edit 2: The rivets are now retractable. I have to keep pushing them back into the pen. I'm considering shrinking the handle so I don't have to fiddle with it anymore. The metal part is very good but the handle assembly was cheap.
