The CanoScan FB630U is probably the best scanner you can find if it's as good as the AK47. I've had the FB630U for over 7 years now and this thing hasn't let me down long term. Why? Because Canon does not support any drivers for the new Windows VISTA operating system. To be honest if I could keep using this thing I would but Canon just didn't update this bully with an updated Vista driver to recognize it or this thing would have lasted me for a very, very long time. Honestly, I can not imagine that. Of all the shortcomings of this scanner, apart from the incompatibility of the operating system, I just said, but if you use the Windows XP format, you will not be satisfied with this product and you will come very close. It doesn't take long to scan, it can get to pretty high resolutions and DPI settings and keep asking for more, and as an illustrator I've scanned hundreds of images with this thing, countless photos with this thing. still ongoing; when it can be said with certainty that he is more reliable than a family dog. Simple, efficient, not to mention one of the prettiest scanners I've seen in a long time; They just don't make them anymore, which is a shame. If you do manage to find one, grab it and hope Canon understands how amazing this scanner was and still is and that they will provide it with the correct updated driver it deserves. Seriously, that's the ONLY thing holding this thing back during long tech marathons. If you are looking for a scanner that fits your 8.5" x 11" needs, or if you can partially scale large images, this scanner is your number one choice. ** CANON, UPDATE THE DRIVERS OF THIS BEAST?!
