Review on Cook Home NC 00358 Nonstick 10 Piece by Christine Jensen

Satisfied as punch! best in pot

Like the others, I'm more than satisfied to begin with - lovely retro avocado, not messy and every bite was perfect and flawless. Really well packed. I chose them for a number of reasons but mostly because of the price as it seems that no matter how much people pay there is a proportion of reviews where ceramic fails. If that had to happen, I didn't want to spend that much money. The pans are lightweight which is what I was looking for as I will be partially using the set in an RV. The lids are glass, but heavy. I also appreciate that the handles on the lids are made out of the same plastic as the handles, so I don't have to have an oven mitt to take them off. The grips are great too - often the grips are too heavy or feel uncomfortable - they are comfortable to hold with a thumb recess. The little leaflet that comes with the kit says they can be used in the oven at up to 350 degrees. I haven't tried it and I'm not sure I have the guts, but it might be good to know for those reading this. So far cooking is a breeze but I will say that I usually cook with some kind of liquid, butter or oil. . I think I read somewhere that this still helps keep the pan set/seasoned like cast iron. I wanted something for the eggs (which I try so hard too, I always leave them fried on the tongue in my stainless steel and also to make it easier for me to clean up in an RV where sometimes you don't have the water and need to be stored I can easily wipe them down with a paper towel before cleaning I also loved that each lid fits on each part so you have one for each size (although you have to share it - 4 lids, 6 pack) Especially good like the large one a frying pan with a higher rim also good two handles on the pans overall just a very well designed set and huge value (if you appreciate the sets) I've noticed that it seems to take longer to heat up - but that might be because what I'm cooking as instructed at lower heat I can simply cover with a lid to facilitate food movement and allow for this as long as the bottom stays clean - silvery and ribbed - does not become magnetized Do not use for induction. I cook on low heat and gas/propane, wait for them to cool before cleaning and hand washing with mild soap. I kept the cardboard inserts for storage protection. I'll come back and update if/if they fail.

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • a little wrinkled
