Review on Renewed Logitech MX ERGO Advanced Wireless Trackball for Windows PC and Mac by Amit Amit ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm satisfied, it's a good purchase.

Passed from the next dead from the multiclick M570. I got tired of changing, and at the time of the death of the trackball, the ated 575th model was not on sale, so I took this one. To be honest, it was hard to get used to. All the same, it has a slightly different shape, a different grip, and at first it was not very comfortable. Is it worth the additional payment compared to the 575th model? Well, to be honest, I'm not sure, now I would limit myself to 575. Balls from the 570th, by the way, are suitable, it looks better with blue than with gray. It turns out that as the first trackball - redundant, but as an upgrade - controversial. It is clear why they released the 575th model, with this Logitech obviously went too far.

Pros
  • Logitech quality, heavy, solidly made. The trackball is a plus in itself. There is a tilt setting (sorry not the Plus version, there is a stand with an even greater slope). Made more seriously than the 570th, more expensive plastic, no more rubber bands on the glue. There is Bluetooth (although this is a more energy-intensive mode), the ability to configure work profiles (depending on the software). There is a mode of increased accuracy.
Cons
  • Minuses, oddly enough, too well. 1) M570 seemed more convenient to me. Even the forward / backward buttons were more accessible there for fingers. 2) Cleaning the rollers has become MUCH more difficult. In the M570, it was enough to squeeze out the ball with the little finger and clean the rollers, but then you need to turn it off, remove the metal plate, squeeze out the ball with a PENCIL (your finger will no longer work) and only then clean it. 3) The promised battery life is actually not as long as promised. No "months", maybe 1 month. This is not a little, and you can charge while you work, but marketing is just marketing. 4) The battery itself is now built-in and, as it were, cannot be replaced. Sooner or later she will die. In the M570, you simply changed the AA battery. 5) Price tag - an expensive toy will directly say. Logitech's pieces of iron are generally not cheap (and not always justifiably), but then they clearly decided to go into the Premium segment 6) Disassemble, at least for cleaning the wheel has become more difficult, now special bolts have been added.
