It doesn't look like plastic at all

I bought this because my cat used to pee on a futon. Maybe more than once before I discovered it. I've tried everything to clean it up, but it's impossible to get rid of cat urine completely. Soaking the mattress in Odoban doesn't help either. I still smell urine. Now, not wanting to buy a new futon for a few hundred dollars, I decided to give this one a try. I thought if it was waterproof maybe it would lock in the faint residual smell and also protect the futon from further accidents. I can confirm that this item is definitely waterproof. Doesn't look like plastic at all. It's not loud or uncomfortable. The advantage is that it is odorless. To test this, I took a fresh basil leaf and slapped it a few times before placing it on my futon to release the scent. Then I put it in this case and zipped it up. I found where the leaf was inside and sniffed as hard as I could, right through the wrapper and into the leaf. couldn't smell it. I opened the lid and an Italian dinner came out, but I hadn't smelled the basil before. I threw it onto the futon, and try as I might, I couldn't smell any cat pee. So - I recommend this thing to avoid getting into my predicament in the first place, but I also recommend it if you want to get out of a similar predicament.
