Review on 🐕 Garmin Pro 70: Advanced Dog Training System for Optimal Results by James Bullets

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It should have been a year ago!

I've had this system for a week now and my Anatoly has earned full respect. I had a hard time getting him to stop playing rough with me—a 60-year-old woman—in the backyard. I've been to at least seven obedience classes, which were good for everything except his off-leash excitement. It scratched my skin and left bruises on me. He's two years old and weighs 120 pounds - there's still a lot of pup in this boy. When I first used it, it only took a hit with parameter 4 to get the message. Since then he has responded well to just the sound and I can go out into the street without fear that he will accuse me of being violent. He has thick hair, especially around his neck, so I was afraid the contact lenses wouldn't penetrate his skin, but they do. I started on the lowest setting, as recommended in the instructions, and worked my way up to three as his ears perked up. He was responding to the four, so I figured it was the right frame to get his attention. The instruction manual doesn't explain loading and setting up very well, and doesn't say anything about how to use it for learning. I would recommend asking a friend or trainer who has successfully used an e-collar for help or guidance when using it for the first time. After that, the dog's behavior will show you what adjustments need to be made. The manual remote control is really manual. It does not include a lanyard or similar carrying case/pouch. The device is rated five stars, but I'm giving it four because of the instructions and the lack of explanation on the pictures.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not the best
