The dimension of vanity strikes again; Zipper Issues

Advertised as 'Regular Classic/Contemporary Fit'. Therefore, when choosing the size, I assumed that the usual classic/modern fit could lie somewhere between a classic fit and a modern fit. I'm of average/athletic build with short arms. Short of over-length sleeves (a casual clothing problem I live with), the medium size, which fits between a classic fit and a modern fit, had to fit me perfectly, with a little more room for layering. Aside from trying this jacket on, the cut is nothing short of typically modern, with characteristically narrow shoulders and long, narrow arms. Well I had to read the fine print on the size chart which says to increase the size by 2-3 inches. your actual measurements. Ordering this jacket your size will give you a modern fit. This means this jacket is the same size as your correct size modern fit shirt. That means it looks trendy when you wear it over a shirt — when you can actually wear it over a shirt — but forget about wearing anything underneath. Hey, here's an idea: why not the measurements as given in the size chart should be the wearer's measurements ("height"), not the exact jacket measurements ("dress size")? Oh I know! VANITY SIZING strikes again! I can wear this as long as I'm not wearing anything. But this jacket is so tight for me that I can't move normally. Подумав, что я мог бы захотеть что-то надеть под это, или я мог бы даже захотеть пошевелить руками или телом, я подумывал обменять это на большой или даже очень большой, но обсудил это, потому что рукава большего размера были бы слишком длинными на me. If you're built the way the clothing manufacturers think all men are built today - tall and lean - then this jacket is perfect for you. The modern fit is a new fashion trend that may or may not last, but for now has become the norm in today's world. What I also noticed is that the zipper is thin and does not close smoothly. You can shut him up, but sometimes you have to make an effort. Unfortunately, cheap zippers also seem to be a new fashion trend. Between the time I posted this review the other day and the day Revain posted it, Lightning decided to give up. As of this writing I have returned the jacket due to a sizing issue and a broken zipper. I now understand how to interpret Columbia's dress size charts (the charts list "clothing size" and not "height"), so I'll consider swapping them out for the same jacket in a larger size. But I also know that zippers on these things have potential problems. Aside from my personal issues with the modern fit and zip, I loved the style and feel of this jacket. This seemed to work well as a so-called "intermediate coat" for fall and spring when temperatures here range from 40 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the temperate region.
