Review on ZOSI 8CH 5MP Lite Outdoor Security Camera System with 1TB HDD, H.265+ 8Channel CCTV Recorder, 8pcs 1080P Weatherproof Surveillance Cameras, 120ft Long Night Vision, Remote Access, Motion Alert by Johnny Chambers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My detailed review.

Hooray, 1 month owned. There are 3 subcategories for the rating. I actually contacted tech support and here are my thoughts: Tech Support (Category 1): My contact with them was due to an error formatting the hard drive. Responsiveness 5/5, helpfulness 5/5. The issue was resolved when I realized it was a problem with the secondary hard drive as it wasn't formatted through my computer either. I switched to a different hard drive and it worked. Her support name is Koko @ Zosi and I really help her. Night Vision (Category 2): It turned out that 1 out of 4 cameras had a quality issue that caused the night vision not to work, and finally it didn't work. Strength. But with the other three cameras, I found the range incredible. In any ambient light, the night vision is much further and clearer. Rated almost 5/5 but due to the quality control issue Coco sent me for a replacement thanks I gave it a 4/5. (This may not be the correct way to rate the night vision category, but there is no quality/durability category here. Make up your own mind.) I also have a Blink XT2 system and a Blink Mini that I'm comparing against. And so Zosya's night vision has at least double the range and quality, or even triple it. To be honest, the Blink XT2's infrared light doesn't reach the end of my driveway, but the Zosi cameras do reach my neighbors' backyard across the street, almost 50 meters away. (Although the Blink XT2 is completely wireless and battery-powered, how it's powered is an important factor.) Motion Detection (Category 3): Here's the fun part, Blink's system blows it out of the water. It's not that the Zosi cameras don't detect motion in time, I actually see the 'MD' signal on the monitor pretty quickly when motion enters the camera's field of view; Thing is, when I set the DVR to record based on MD, I found that when motion enters the camera's field of view, playback is delayed by 1-3 seconds - sometimes the motion is already over: (. I suspect this may be the case in the context of an HDD that needs to spin to start writing I think and I haven't tested this, an SSD will fix this but it will for a High capacity SSD very expensive.in the camera's field of view.Maybe due to the design and the fact that it's a cloud recording and not a disk alert feature on my phone but the recording is on 24/7 and I use it all the time based on the timestamp. And with the H265 codec I exceeded 1 month of continuous recording 4 cameras, although in the end one camera less records A more appropriate story I have the MD- Category Rated 4/5 Overall Rating: If it weren't for the issue with a camera I would give it a 5/5 overall. If out of 10 stars I would currently rate 9/10; So overall rating 4/5. My Recommendations: If you have a strong need for outdoor lighting and have a large area to cover, I would recommend a wired DVR system with range. Pain and butt to wire. What made me choose Zosi is that most DVR systems I've seen still use H264 compression, which isn't as efficient as its H265 successor. Zosi, I give a thumbs up. Just a few hiccups for me. This cannot happen to you. Hope that helps. - Andrew
