We have two cats who share a litter box in our laundry room. Cleaning up litter was a never-ending battle before we bought this. I tried a regular rug type mat which kept the litter in one place, but was disgusting to step on. With this mat, I don't see or feel any signs of spills, even when I step on the mat. I highly recommend it.
