I'm addicted to tea. Loose Leaf Assam, Earl Grey, Sencha, Genmaicha, Jiagulan, Tulsi, Yerba Mate etc. I often do at least 2 pots before noon and sometimes a 3rd in the afternoon. I love this little teapot. I use it as a kettle rather than a kettle. I boil water in a kettle and fill it with loose tea. The basket hangs low enough for the leaves to really get wet and swirl. Not all kettles have built-in strainers. I also get very little leaves and sediment, so the filter does its job. By the way, if you don't use a paper filter, you will always get some particles. You also lose flavor with a paper filter. This is the right size for 2 large mugs or my oversized 20 ounce travel mug. I usually fill up my mug, toss the rest into a travel mug, fill up the kettle with water, and make a second brew. I think it keeps the tea warmer than my last ceramic teapots, especially the glass ones (bug). I put it on the stove to warm up the broth which has been sitting for a while but it cooks the perfect pot as I described. Very easy to care for and looks great against the background. I don't always check what I haven't used for at least a few months, but after the first 10 pots I'm very satisfied. If anything changes in the next few months, I'll update elsewhere.
