I use it on an electric heater, heats well and keeps the water hot for a long time. Before use, I boiled water and moistened it as directed. There is no strange taste of water in this teapot. It's nice to look at, I'm glad I bought this kettle.

I would like to start by saying that I like the size of this kettle. I chose blue and it's beautiful. The only problem I had was attaching the handle to the teapot. I asked 3 people and the last person I asked finally hit the ground running. It was so difficult and I was afraid it would break from the effort it took to pick up the handle. It was such a difficult task and I came close to getting the kettle back. It worked and if I had to buy another one of these kettles I wouldn't.

I'm addicted to tea. Loose Leaf Assam, Earl Grey, Sencha, Genmaicha, Jiagulan, Tulsi, Yerba Mate etc. I often do at least 2 pots before noon and sometimes a 3rd in the afternoon. I love this little teapot. I use it as a kettle rather than a kettle. I boil water in a kettle and fill it with loose tea. The basket hangs low enough for the leaves to really get wet and swirl. Not all kettles have built-in strainers. I also get very little leaves and sediment, so the filter does its job. By the way…
