Perfect grit on housewares

As an aircraft mechanic, I think of Scotch-Brite as a tool. When cleaning and preparing aluminum, removing corrosion and even removing paint, I clean my hands to remove jet black grease as this removes the top dead layer. This happened when I started using it at home. First, it scratches (micro-scratches) most surfaces, especially when they are new. I cut the pads in half. Light pressure with dampened soap to clean the inside of the microwave, bake food in the oven, etc. The great thing about this is that it softens over time, unlike the green Scotch Brite you find in the store has it still has cleaning power in use and is softer but doesn't scratch as badly. When it comes to this point, I use it everywhere. I use it to wash dishes in the kitchen: light pressure because the cutlery still gets scratched. I have a bath mat under my foot, a quick wipe down of the tub after a shower keeps the film build up from all the products we use like deodorant, hair products, soap etc which we all refer to as suds and debris, hard water. Ideal for cleaning toilets and sinks. Just use your common sense as it will still leave light scratches on the surface of the faucet if used incorrectly. I won't use it dry or without soap for housework, but I have a mat almost everywhere, I even use it to wash potatoes and vegetables. As said, it's not the same as the green one you can buy at the store, it retains its cleaning power long after most people would throw it away, so it's best used at home. It's easy to clean and dries quickly, so it doesn't get moldy that easily. I use newer pads to clean wheel wells and tires on cars and trucks but don't use them on wheels, painted surfaces, glass, plastic because you'll ruin them. Is the benefit infinite?
