Review on πŸ“¦ Efficient White 7-drawer Halifax Storage/Organization by Winsome by Travis Varner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Overall good for the price (this review wrote building tips)

So I'd like to preface my review by saying that (through no fault of the manufacturer) my storage boxes are damaged. The delivery driver took it to the wrong house and it was left outside in the rain, damaged box, shipping label and parts of the product. I got my money back as I couldn't return it without tags and such, but I decided to put it together anyway because... well I didn't know what else to do with it if I couldn't return it . Anyway, since I basically got a free working product and I don't like it, I'm doing you a favor by giving you some assembly tips :) The instructions are in pictures only and it would be nice if they were a bit more detailed can be closer and better labeled. I had a little trouble figuring out the alignment of some small details on this piece of furniture. Also, for some reason they gave me a screw not as long as everyone else (pictured)? I used it anyway because it was the same diameter and it wasn't a structural screw, just one for the drawer hardware so I figured it didn't matter much. It took me (woman 21) about 3 hours to assemble and my hands were very sore from the screwing afterwards (I recommend using a very low speed and torque electric screwdriver or drill as chipboard tends to splinter with a lot of force) . Now I will go through the steps of the guide and add some much-needed details for you. 1) The first step was pretty easy; Attach all m and n parts to parts b and c (respectively). A tip here is to make sure the m and n are on the correct side as neither is labeled. What you want is that the end of the bar with the wheel is on the front and the wheel is in the down position. 2) This step got a bit tricky for pictures. There are about 3-4 things to do at this stage and it was a little unclear what to do first. I recommend attaching the V (camlock screws) and Q2 (large dowels) to Part A first, then inserting the large camlocks on the sides. Then insert part A into the top part, fix the cam locks and then slide the back part. The instructions show the back piece sliding from the top, but I found it much easier to slide it in from the bottom after the top was secured. the sides and screw the long screws through the bottom 4) Very easy, attaching the casters. One thing that was a little frustrating here was that the screw holes weren't even drilled a quarter the length of the screw, so it took a little effort to get the screw to bite and go into the wood. . This was the only part of this product that had the holes made like this. 5) the most tedious step and also has many moving parts. The order in which I recommend it; Connect the sides and back of all drawers with the marked parts, then insert the bottoms of all drawers. Attach small dowels and eccentric screws to the drawer fronts, then add the cam locks, press down on the drawer fronts and lock the cams. I've tried several other orders for other boxes but this one was definitely the most effective. At this point I realized that some of the pre-drilled holes weren't quite aligned for the bottom of the box to go in. So I recommend not fully tightening the sides until the bottom is fully seated, and then tightening it around the bottom. I also noticed that there were some inconsistencies in the photos provided for this step, parts do not look exactly as advertised. To do this, you want your sides to be aligned so that the bottom slot is at the bottom, the two holes are at the back, and the front camlock hole is at the top. Attaching the drawer wheels was very easy and straightforward. -Forward. I hope this was helpful for those who were a little confused by the picture-only instructions :)
