This is obviously an attempt to incorporate a Sert back mimic into a movable chair. It's very uncomfortable. The base of the chair is split in half and hinged under the middle. So you're sitting on a thin piece of foam attached to a piece of wood to which another piece of wood with foam attached at a 90 degree angle that is independent of the overall back of the chair. . When you sit in a chair, you feel like you'll be thrown off it, and a small piece of wood covered in foam presses on your back. The only way to feel the rest of the chair back is to place your feet at about a 45 degree angle to recline the seat back. There's no tilt control at the base, so it's like a ride. It is more convenient to sit on a folding chair than in this pose. I have a few other Serta office chairs and there is no comparison between what I have and this chair. Don't buy this chair!
