This is a really sturdy, lightweight & easy to set up net. I got it for my son & daughter to run baseball/softball drills in our backyard. My son is a pitcher so we wanted a large net "backstop" to keep wild balls from getting to far away. This one uses fiberglass tent-like poles vs. steel click together poles that the higher end baseball/softball use which is the only real difference. The steel poles are heaver which will technically be more stable & last longer than fiberglass. For our uses, the price point and weight consideration I decided to try this style. The base is steel and a good weight to be stable, for hitting drills I didn't need any additional weights but when my son was pitching on it there was a little rocking so I put a 10lb bag of potting soil on each corner and it worked perfect. It comes with U stakes which we use when we take the net to practice. The whole thing is super easy to set up - the fiberglass poles being bendy really helped with stringing the net up and they keep it nice and tight. The kids set it up on their own. I really love how lightweight this thing is and that it packs down compact so that we can take it to the park for team practices too. This is a great alternative to buying a heavy weight traditional base/softball pitching/hitting net.
