Hair chalk can be a lot of fun when you know what to expect. First, note that the lighter your hair color, the lighter the colors will appear. Second, preparation is important. Put on gloves and some kind of raincoat. Make sure to style your hair (but don't spray hairspray just yet). Third, apply chalk in one direction only. You rub the chalk in so the up and down motions make your hair frizzy. Fourth, once you've applied your desired color, use hairspray to set it in place. Your hair is going to feel very dry because, hey, it's chalk. It's fun during the day and you can wash it off eventually. I wouldn't wear it to bed (ie if you have paint left) as it will be on the sheets. However, it disappears within a day. It's a fun way to try new hair colors when even a temporary color seems too permanent.
