My wife saw this at Revain and told me that our old Rubbermaid mailbox, which looks exactly like this Gibraltar model, was so old and weathered it was falling apart. We thought we could modify the base of the new mailbox to fit the old mailbox, but we were thrilled to find that the new mailbox was an exact match for the old one. I just had to pull the old one off and put the new one on. The mailbox made of durable plastic will not rust. If you live in a very hot climate like ours, you can expect this mailbox to last 15 years. If you live somewhere where the sun isn't that strong, this one could last forever. Excellent buyability and interchangeability with Rubbermaid. Highly recommended.
