I'm pleasantly impressed - especially for the price. I compare them to Monoprice headphones and popular Panasonics in the same price range. The middle bass is well defined, not boomy. Some of these manufacturers emphasize mid-bass to create a fuller sound, but ultimately lose definition in the process. These headphones are a bit more mature; to understand that the listener can appreciate the full range of vertical bass. There is space between the instruments, which makes me feel more like I'm in a room with the musicians. As with all these headphones, the sound gets hoarse very quickly when you turn them on, so pay attention to your eardrums and make sure the volume is moderate. I like the built in pause controls. I also love how this headphone design (just like Panasonic's) stays in my ear as I garden, bend over, exercise and sweat. Other typical designs tend to slip out after a few minutes. I liked them enough to buy a second pair.
