So if your cage has a plastic bottom that tapers from the bars, you won't be able to attach it to the bars. It should be level from bottom to top so the screw is long enough to be secured. It's ok, my 3 rats don't fiddle with it or move it too much. But I understand that this is not suitable for some people who are unable to attach it to the lower plastic cage. She still loves the box and I love the size with 3 guys filling it up quickly! I bought this set with additional accessories because it was actually cheaper than just buying the tray itself from every other seller I found.
