My son needed a big styrofoam ball for an Earth project and this size was perfect. It’s very smooth and it doesn’t flake. We haven’t cut into to it yet to illustrate Earth layers, so not sure how easy it will be to cut into it but it was in great shape right out of the box. I also didn’t have run around town looking for a styrofoam ball!
