My family of 5 lives in a small NYC apartment. With one kids bike, one small road bike, one medium mountain bike, one large road bike, and another XL road bike, we were completely out of space. We have one closet that is about as wide as this bracket is long. I mounted it through the ceiling into two wooden beams using the provided hardware and when I was complete I was able to hang my full 200lb weight from it without seeing it flex or budge. That was great news, since the next step was to hang 4 bikes totaling 200 lbs from it! As long as you stagger them front-wheel to back-wheel, you can EASILY fit all 4, with an extra bracket for adjusting them left or right as needed for easy access. We've had this up for over a year and have seen absolutely no impact on our ceiling, bikes, or hanger. It's perfect for our family, couldn't be happier!
